Book Description

Preface
This book is an attempt to study nature miracles by utilizing various exegetical tools in order to develop and highlight the presence of cosmic Christology in Matthew's Gospel. As miracle stories are neglected during the formulation of various Christologies of Matthew, the book offers new trajectory for further research. Though titles and typologies are the main ingredients in developing Matthew's Christologies, this attempt finds that stories of nature miracles are embedded with rich sources to enhance the overall picture of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew. The work also focuses on the contact between Christology and cosmology in Synoptic Gospels which is largely untouched by any other research. The basic methodology is projected from the study of relevant literature especially the cosmological worldview found in Jewish literatures. It also finds out that cosmic Christology is neglected in the study of Matthew's Christology.

The original title of the thesis is "Nature Miracles in the Gospel of Matthew as the basis for developing Cosmic Christology." Changes and improvements have been made by inculcating examiners' comments. My heartfelt thanks to my supervisor Rev. Prof. C. I. David Joy, and examiners Rev. Dr. V. J. John and Rev. Dr. P. C. Gine.
