India Smiles: Winning Entries for Sulekha.com Humour Contest

In 2005, Sulekha.com, the largest online community connecting Indians worldwide, offered a unique opportunity to writers- The India Smiles contest. Writers were invited to submit a humorous piece of writing, fiction or non-fiction. Over a million members of Sulekha.com global community helped shortlist sixty entries out of the five thousand received. A distinguished panel of judges then selected the three best entries with the outstanding entry among them receiving one lakhs rupees and the two runners-up receiving ten thousand rupees each.
