As soon as the readers peep into the very first page of the opening chapter of this book, they encounter with the very vast campus of the most ancient peerless center of higher education in the remote past of India. It was the singular world renowned University of the Then World. No body could leave without flummoxed while acquainting with the legendary sprawled wholesome campus of the University of Takshashila abundance in natural beauty. Two extraordinary ambitious historical characters from the same university is narrated beautifully in the present work. They strove utmost to carry through their respective missions. Both they worked together to accomplish their goal and carried through also. But it is an interesting thing to note that they were the men of two different ideologies. Of them one is Chandra Gupta Maurya the first Emperor of unified India and also the founder of Mauryan dynasty of Magadha at Pataliputra. Other one is Chanakya alias Kautilya the Prime Minister of Emperor Chandragupta. Both proved triumphant in their respective mission but the end of their life witnessed complete differently.

About The Author

Ashwaveer Wasudeo Gajbhiye (Email: gfw.ashwaveer@gmail.com) born on 3rd January, 1975, in a village of barely 40 houses namely Bhosa in the Bhandara District of Maharashtra. His mother Fulan and father Wasudeo are the small farmers. He earned schooling education at the Z.P. Government Schools at Bhosa, Neri and Warthi. He acquired B.Sc. (2000), B.A. additional In History (2001), M.A. in Ancient Indian History (2003), and another M.A. in Modern History (2005) from RTM Nagpur University. He qualified UGC-NET in 2004. He has been also a research scholar of Ph.D. of the two Universities namely RTM Nagpur and Gondwana University Gadchiroli. There are four books into his credits so far. Out of which two in English and rest are in Marathi. Of the English works one is "The Constitutional Name of India' which is reviewed in the Journal of Parliamentary Information-JPI (Sept. 2016) the journal published by Lok Sabha Secretariat GOI, and other one is the biography of King Ashoka entitled 'Dhammachakravarti King Ashoka'. He is a brilliant and challenging scholar. There are 40 research articles which have been published in the dailies, books and in the journals. Presently he is working as a lecturer in History at GTM Lakhandur (Bhandara District). He is also a founder and secretary of The Ashoka Archaeological and Environmental Preservation and Research Society. Other than this he has been actively participating in the campaign of Legal Awareness programs from 2012, which is especially sponsored by the National Legal Service Authority (NALSA Under the Suprem Court of India). He is also very serious indulged in the Environmental Issues.

Introduction

This is the memoirs constructed in a long narrative story of the two extraordinary ambitious historical characters who strove utmost to carry through their respective missions. Their respective goals were the mission and destination of their lives. Both they worked together to accomplish their goal and carried through also. But it is an interesting thing that they were the men of two different ideologies. This work is based on the life of these two amazing characters. Of them one is Chandragupta Maurya the first Emperor of unified India and also the founder of Mauryan dynasty of Magadha at Pataliputra. Other one is Chanakya the Prime Minister of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya. Chanakya is the author of Arthasästra the first ancient treatise on political science and state craft. Chandragupta is considered the disciple of Chanakya. Both were the alumni of Takshashila University which was the most ancient and singular peerless center of higher education in remote past of India. Of them Chanakya was a student, teacher and the principal of the same university. His mother's name was Dramila who belonged to a serpent race (Naga). She was well versed in the Vedic literature.
