Gangadhar Dasa

This Dasa system is not found in any of the available standard samskrit texts of astrology and the scribe learnt it from a Tan- tra Sadhaka of very high order having profound knowledge of astrology. The learned taught the scribe two different types of Dasa systems namely Gangadhar Dasa and Damodar Dasa and he was using these Dasa systems only for anushthans (rit- ual) of general salutariness and benediction. The Gangadhar Dasa was being used for rituals performed in Shukla Paksha (bright half) and Damodar Dasa in Krishna Paksha (dark half). For the purpose of its application of events in the life of general public both can be applied independently on all the natives with very accurate results. Gangadhar Dasa was first published in essay form in SA and TOA the same is enlarged here in the form of this booklet for the readers to examine its beauty at their own ends.

The author of this book is a known name and has authored many books in astrolo- gy including the world famous treatise like "Utopia and Anarchy of Stars" and "The Lost Horizon in Vaidik Astrology". He has authored authentic and thought provok- ing texts on other types of Dasa that has earned wide acclamations from the schol- ars all over. Here he has brought out a com- pletely hitherto unknown Dasa system the beauty and marvel. of whose efficacy can be appreciated during the course of its application. Before this he brought out another Dasa system from Tantrik treasures of astrology called Muktashtaki Dasa; completely based on Ashtaka Varga, and which has been re- ceived with an open heart by the lovers of astrology.

The science of astrology was not developed by the brilliant astronomers but by the great adepts of occult doctrine who also possessed very sound knowledge of astronomy. That is why it is often said that astronomy is the body and astrology is its soul. Many predictive tools and many types of Dasa systems are hidden in the chest of rural pundits of Tantrik cult scattered all over in our vast country and Nepal and they are extremely reluctant to divulge the same to others. These are transmitted only through strict disciplic succession to the worthy pupils. The scribe is lucky to have few of them from different sources. Gangadhar Dasa is one of such Dasa systems which is extremely efficacious but is not found in any standard classical texts of astrology.

Although it sounds odd today but the fact remains unaltered that astrology was never the subject of great astronomers but always of Siddha Tantriks and Yogis (occultists) who were also master astronomers. In Siddha Tantrk cults various types of Dasa systems and predictive techniques are prevalent which are now not found in the standard classical texts of astrology and on ac- count of their oath for maintaining secrecy (Gopniyata) at all cost Tantriks do not divulge them to uninitiates and unworthy.

After more than two decades of learning this Dasa and ap- plying it on large number of horoscopes I wrote an article on the same which was first published in Saptarishi Astrology, a digital magazine. Subsequently, it was also published in the Times of As- trology on request of many of the readers. The same essay has now been expanded in form of this booklet for the benefit of the students.
