History of Ayurveda

History is as important as any other branch of science. Careful review of events in the past will pave the way for new inventions. This work will discuss the history of ayurveda in detail. In English, there are very few books on the subject of History of Ayurveda. This work lucidly covers the subject both at graduate as well as at the post-graduate level. For history of ayurveda there are 18 points in the BAMS syllabus and 13 points in the MD syllabus. This book covers both the aspects in a not too elaborate and not too concise form. While establishing the period of a text or its author various other historical events were considered to bring in more authenticity to the conclusions drawn. History is always associated with controversies. Therefore, special attention is paid to avoid controversies and sufficient evidence is provided where ever it was required to furnish new views. Notes on Vrksayurveda and Pasu-ayurveda will be interesting for the readers.
