Ron Harris was very much involved to have Homeopathy fully recognized in North America since 1960 preaching Gandhian philosophy "just as non-violence will never fail, Homeopathy never fails, but it may, owing to faulty application of the principles". He spended most of his time to encourage Homeopathy, be it education, teaching, training, or setting up a charitable hospital or dispensary. He was a gold medalist in Homeopathy and won many other awards. He was honoured by federal, provincial and local governments internationally; the chemical institute of Canada; Dr. Nielsen's Homeopathic Medical Education and Research Centre in Winnipeg; Homeopathic Medical Council of Canada; Homeopathic Medical center of Canada; Homeopathic Medical centre — India; Department of Education — Nova Scotia, Canada and students. He was nominated for Order of Canada in 2002 and again in 2006. He was an advisor to Canadian Coalition for Homeopathic Medicine; Canadian Institute of Homeopathic Medicine, Dr. Nielsen’s Homeopathic Medical Education and Research Centre, Homeopathic Medical Centre of Canada, and Centre Homeopathic de Quebec. He was also consulted by the provinces of Manitoba, British Columbia, Ontario and government of India on the subject. He was the founder of the Canadian Institute of Homeopathic Medicine, a non-profitable organization.
At the outset, I would like to thank Dr Isha Gupta for her encouragement and suggestions, and editing this book.
I would also like to thank the House of B. Jain for publishing this book. My relationship with B. Jain Publishers goes back over 70 years, when I was first introduced to "Chaay, garm garm chaay" by young Prem.
Over a period of 80 years of practice, I realized that a book to explain potency, dosage and susceptibility of homeopathic remedies is long overdue.
An attempt has been made in this book to provide both dosage and potency. In cases, where dosage and potency is not provided, it is best to consult a qualified homeopath.
To avoid confusing abbreviations, names of the medicines are given in full, to make it easier for everyone to know exactly what remedy is being used.
