Book Description

About The Book

The term Management pervades all facets of life, not in managing only a business, an organization, or a society. It certainly is a larger horizon, implicating the function more complex. The authors, therefore, present 100 pertinent quotations on management, covering all aspects. Each quote is conjoined with a stimulating painting of Lord Ganesha, the Lord of Peace, Prosperity and Wisdom, matching the theme. While many of these thought- provoking and enlightening quotes are from towering personalities, some are the own creations of the authors.

Systems, strategies, operations, perception of the masses, technological changes, and conventional factors of production, all fall under the ambit of Management. And managing them is exacerbating, at times. The quotes in this book, with deep meaning, not only become a source of inspiration, but also help one to improve one's efficiency and add sparkle to his /her everyday work and life.

About The Author

Mr R.N. Kogata, a Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary by profession, and Mrs Lalita Kogata, a post-graduate and part Company Secretary, both have an artistic background and deep interest in sculptures and paintings of Lord Ganesha. They probably have the world's largest creation and collection of more than 10,300 types of statues/idols and paintings of Lord Ganesha. The Kogata couple appears in the Limca Book of Records for this great achievement.

Other books authored by them are: Maa - The Mother, Pita - The Father, Pati - The Husband in the Eyes of Wife, Patni - The Wife in the Eyes of Husband, Parivaar - Family: The Art of Living Life, Bachpan - Childhood: The Gift of God, Insaan, Indian Marriage - Customs and Rituals; and a few very inspiring books of quotes on topics like: Faith & Trust, Family, Friendship, Life, Love, Management, Moods & Emotions, Relationship, and Success.

Preface

"Pen is mightier than the sword", says an old age. The power of words is so intense that it can cut through systems, strategies, operations and perceptions of the masses. That's the force of verbal expression. When words are expressed with clarity, vision and profound conviction they evolve into management techniques and principles; and if such ideas are presented in the form of simple quotations and sayings with deep meanings, they not only become a source of inspiration but the same can also be imbibed to improve upon our efficiency and add a new sparkle to our everyday work and life. A well-tuned phrase or a striking piece of wit can create ripples of joy in an otherwise dull state of mind.

Management has been normally understood as managing an office or business. But everyone now knows that management is a must in all the facts of life, i.e. office, business, daily work, study, home, family life and even enjoyment, and therefore quotes on all these aspects of management have been included in this book. They may not directly relate to any specific management but definitely give a message on management for any of the above-mentioned areas in some way or the other.

We have studied, travelled, worked, managed, experienced and, in the process have chosen these quotes over the years, based on various situations we ourselves came across.

This book incorporates 100 carefully chosen quotations on Management, created, modified and mixed. Some of the thoughts presented are ours and the others are from the people who have stood by and worked for the values, some were famous and some were ordinary people. We have acknowledged the persons who have been quoted, wherever we could remember. Readers are welcome to suggest any amendments and additions.

Ganesha is the God of Wisdom and each of the quotes in this book is accompanied by a painting of Lord Ganesha to inspire you. These paintings have been created by our professional artists keeping in mind the themes of individual quotes.

Our sincere thanks to Drews Blondie, S.T. Coleridge, Friedrich Engels, Bill Gates, Emile Gaborian, Shiv Khera, Dhirubhai Ambani, Katherine White horn, Brendan Francis, Lord Herbert, Peter Drucker, Jules Rootand, Van Wilder, Jack Welch, Wilson Mizner, Benjamin Franklin, John Dryden, Paramahansa Yogananda, Larry Bossidy, Jesse Jackson and other eminent personalities who have come up with such inspiring thoughts for this world.

Nothing, which your own ears are dissatisfied with, would ever get absorbed by your mind. Start now and realize your full potential. Always know that you are smarter than you think what you are and have the right to present yourself in such a way. Make this book your companion and let these thoughts be your pleasure ground for a happy life.

We prostrate before our parents Smt Kanchan Devi and Shri Bhairav Lal Kogata, and Smt Kamla Devi Nuwal and the late Prof. K.M. Nuwal for their benign blessings that have inspired us to devote ourselves to this cause.
