Management with A Difference

It was sometime in the year 1992 that my article on ‘Management by Consciousness’ had been published in The Advent—a quarterly journal of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry. The article was acclaimed as a new approach in the field of management and the readers made a repeated demand for copies of this article from the Editor, the late Shri M. P. Pandit, who proposed to publish the article in the form of a brochure. Consequently, the brochure entitled ‘Man- agement by Consciousness—A Spirituo-technical Approach’ was published by Sri Aurobindo Institute of Research in Social Sciences —a research wing of Sri Aurobindo Society. There- after, another article on "The Mother’s Ministry of Manage- ment’ had been published in Mother India — A Monthly Review of Culture, published by Sri Aurobindo Ashram. This, too, had a great demand from the visitors who were moved by the miracles of management in the Ashram. This, too, had been produced in the form of a brochure. In 1993, a third brochure based on ‘Insights into Indian Ethos’ was brought out by the Institute. Simultaneously, a ‘Bird’s-Eye View on Management Today and Tomorrow’ had been brought out.

All these small publications had been accepted both in thought and contents by the students and teachers in Manage- ment. There has been a wide demand for each of these brochures. With a view to meeting with the demand and also making the contents of four brochures available at one place in one consolidated form these are being clubbed now in one single publication under the title ‘Management with a Dif- ference’. Let us hope this will find favour with our readers.
