Memoirs of a Seeker

Every time I lower my fishing net into past memories, it emerges with different vignettes. This book is supposed to be a story of my spiritual growth and evolution. The very first memory I recall is my own belief that 'I was Special'. Special not to my parents, family, friends or to the world at large, but special nonetheless. The years that went by confirmed it. The reason I am writing this account is because I wish to formally and consciously explore the journey I undertook. A journey I thought was my destiny, my life's ultimate goal.

But was it really? I still wonder.

Let me at the very outset clarify that the story I am going to tell isn't strictly an autobiography. It is an exploration of that aspect of my life that high-lights my spiritual journey. It isn't even a structured linear narrative. It is simply a compilation of random memories that led me to and set me upon a path that left me with many doubts. Those troubling doubts do not fault and blame my experiences while exploring life's journey. The spiritual path I walked may not be wrong; but the means, the teacher - I question him. Did he build my faith or shatter it? Did he evolve me or destroy me? What did I learn or unlearn? Was he worthy or was I unworthy? And most important, how did I survive it - with negativity or positivity? Broken or stronger? Trusting or distrusting? With faith or faithlessness?
