Book Description

About the Book

The book is divided into four parts; Part A deals essentially with facts and restrictions to be known for good prescribing. Part B deals essentially with complications at the dynamic level. Part C deals with illustrative cases. Part D deals about a family, of which almost all members have been homeopathically studied.

This book unfolds a segment of the undiscovered area of homeopathy, clarifying on how homeopathic medicines behave under various circumstances, thereby giving a specific direction on good prescribing. It compiles the scattered work into one place helping us to select the dose and the potency and become a master in the magical science of homeopathy.

The effects of various prescriptions are described specifically on hypersensitive and weak patients, and specifically for psoric constitutions. It also gives an insight into what all can happen if there is a wrong homoeopathic prescription.

Preface

Only over a period of time when results were apparent and minds became cultivated, there resulted an alignment of thoughts in favor of practical, result-oriented and favorable applications in many spheres of knowledge where history, hitherto witnessed cleavages of minds. In most of the cases, the subject matters were tangible or convertible into scientifically deducible inferences such that it was acceptable en-masse. However, homeopathy turned out to be a delicate and intangible concept capable of wider and different ramifications when put to wrong practice leading to great difficulty in alignment of minds. Though the underlying concepts could be wonderfully frozen, the effects of prescriptions could not be often gauged properly and varied from person to person thereby encountering difficulties in ensuring uniformity/standardisation in practicing methods, more so because of different mindsets. In proving a substance, we find that irrespective of the number of provers for the same substance, certain groups of symptoms are strikingly uniform. This shows the wonderful standardisation in nature. In a similar manner, it could have been possible to achieve harmony in practicing methods quite a long time ago, with clearly spelt out exceptions. When nature speaks one language in medicinal provings, why not the practice? The one lot which seems to have borne the brunt most were and are the sensitive/hypersensitive and weak patients, especially at the hands of unqualified doctors available in large numbers.

In the last chapter on homeopathic philosophy, Dr. Kent writes: 'Homeopathy is a perfect science but its truth is partially known'. It remains so till this date.

In this small book of mine, I could go a small step further and unfold a segment of the undiscovered area of homeopathy. Basically, I have concentrated on a little more clarification on how homeopathic medicines behave under various circumstances, thereby giving a specific direction on good prescribing. The effect of various prescriptions are described specifically on sensitive/hypersensitive and weak patients, and specifically for psoric constitutions. Hence the concepts, conditions and situations mentioned below should be applied to such category of patients first. However, if the logic can be extended one step further and applied to the non-hypersensitive group also, then I shall feel more complacent of my mission being accomplished. Secondly, this book deals with more effects on the dynamic plane. Lastly, this book is addressed better to students just graduating out and to the community of unqualified doctors available in large numbers across the country, who actually should not practice, and who do both good and evil to their patients. My request to the last category is to read this book before making their next prescription. Who are the hypersensitive and how do they appear? There cannot be any specific difference in appearance of hypersensitive persons and non-hypersensitive. Hypersensitive people are those whose mind and nervous system are primarily and readily intense in reactivity. They tend to have problems related to the nervous system including nervousness. Their mind is highly reactive to different types of influences. Not only this, their physique is also prone to excessive influence of external factors, like: Sensitiveness to smell, touch, pain, climate, food and drinks, etc. They tend to suffer more out of specific influences than other persons. Such sensitive and hypersensitive patients need not be weak at all. On the contrary, they are very energetic but have hypersensitive constitutions. And generally, in several such constitutions, wrong homeopathic medicines in high potencies tend to take their condition inwards.

I decided to pen down my observations on this group of patients only after getting thoroughly convinced in all possible ways. However, if my observations should hurt any of the readers, I readily and profusely apologise. It has never been my intention to 'teach' or find fault with anybody's practice. I am only trying to drive home my view-point. The reader, if he happens to be a prescriber, can take stock of his practice in the light of the `negatives' in this book and then decide their merit. Through absorbed reading, any reader connected with the subject can find a reasonable answer to the vexed question of deciding potencies, atleast partly. The thoughts in this small book are only my personal thoughts. Only about 4 to 5 people closely associated in my life have been a source of my inspiration. I would have never ventured to write this though I was full of ideas. When we are prescribing homeopathy, it should be borne in mind that we are directly dealing with the all important invisible force - the force of life within the material body - the life force, which is a gift of God. Homeopathic medicines contain powerful energies which deal directly with the seat of the disease, i.e. most often directly or indirectly involving the inside of the brain and not just with the effects of disease. In dealing with this all important vital force, our vision should be fixed beyond what the eye can see, our thoughts are to be focussed beyond what our mind can comprehend because ultimately, it is only through perfect understanding that harmony can be achieved. I repeat that harmony in homeopathy is possible only and only by this unbound, far-sighted perfect understanding.
