Book Description

Foreword
Brahmajl created the divine knowledge of Ayurveda. He handed this knowledge to Indra for the benefit of humanity. Maharishi Bharadwaj as a representative of Rishis, went to Indra and obtained the knowledge from Him Maharishi Bharadwaj distributed this knowledge to Rishi-munis Charak, Sushruta, Atreya Rishis wrote in detail about Ayurveda.

The word Ayurveda is composed of two words: 'ayu'+ 'veda' 'Ayu' indicates all aspects of life from birth to death. 'Veda' means knowledge. From birth till death, what type of life to live, what to eat, what not to eat, what behavior to adopt, what is useful for life, what is harmful for life, what to do when some disease arises, what herbs to eat when some disease strikes, how to keep oneself healthy, how to have a long life, all this is taught by Ayurveda. Veda is the oldest, most pious written knowledge. There are four Vedas: Rig-Veda, Yajurveda, Atharvaveda and Samveda. After these four Ayurveda is considered the fifth veda. Rig-Veda is the oldest. In it, detailed information has been indicated about Ayurveda. Indra, Agni, and Soma- all these three have relationship with Ayurveda three dhatus: vaata, pitta, & kapha. Indra is related to Vaata, Sun to Pitta and Soma (moon) to kapha.
