About The Author

The book has been divided into four chapters : (i) Concentration or Samddhi, (ii) Means of attainment or Sadhana, (iii) Supernormal powers or Vthhtai and (iv) Isolation or Kaivalya. The book comprises of the English rendering of Maniprabha commentary of Ramanand Sarasvati which co mmands a significant position in the field of Yoga school The learned commentator explains elaborately the standpoints of Patafijali as expressed in his Yogasutra. Both in the analysis of the subject matter of the discipline and the method of its treat-ment, Ramanand Sarasvati has displayed thoroughness and scholarship. He has examined critically the hypotheses of adversaries. His style of presentation is logical and appealing.
