Book Description

Foreword

It is a matter of great privilege for me to present this short Booklet based on a voluminous work Tartam Sagar, which Swami Prannath left for all of us to ponder over.
Swami Prannath appeared in this world in 17th century (1618-1694 A.D.).His earlier years were spent as dewan of Navanagar State. He soon got sick of these worldly situa tions and started pondering over the nobler aspects of life here and hereinafter. He received extensive spiritual guid ance from his guru - Nijanand Swami; in this endeavour.
During his brief life span of 76 years, he made extensive effort to bring all the great scriptures of the world - Ved. Kateb, Bhagwat and others; on one platform. He tried to give the view that all these great scriptures, were all realy saying the same thing. The only difference lay in the man ner in which these thoughts were presented and depended upon the audience to whom their message was directed. Swamiji also pointed out that interested persons and groups. in various religions; either not knowing or deliberately, mis led their followers and projected that their faith was differ ent- or superior than others, and they tried to bring out areas of disparity. Swami Prannath tried to reconcile these various, though apparently different looking thoughts. He emphasised that religion is here to unite rather than divide the mankind.
