History (Volume - VIII, 2006)

I am extremely happy to learn that the Eighth volume ofHistory will be released shortly. The earlier volumes of this journal published by the Department of History of this University have all been received well by the academic community owing to the level of presentation therein by eminent experts in the field.

I understand that the present volume includes papers from eminent historians and the coverage is very wide in the context of the nature of inter-disciplinary activities that a developed post graduate department generally undertakes now-a-days. I am sure that the papers published in this volume will elicit critical appreciation by researchers, academicians as well as the students and will encourage the publication of future volumes in a desired way. I convey my thanks to the contributors from neighboring countries. I wish the publication of the present volume all success.
