The Noble Eightfold Path

Manly P. Hall has in the simplest of terms come to grips with the inner concepts of Buddhist theology. He has expressed his conceptual understanding in such terms as to encompass the beliefs and theories of the most ardent Christian. This approach to the subject has been truly of the middle path of which he talks so much and with great dexterity he has drawn up many parallels between the Occidental and oriental beliefs.

His likening of Christ to the Buddha and vice-versa do in no way stray from the major objective of his discussion. In very clear and concise terms he not only lays down the basic precepts of Buddhist thought and belief but also goes into depth to explain the same to the layman. He has approached this subject with a very clear and open mind and has man-aged to express the vital and mainly misunderstood topics in a language which may be understood by all.

Buddhism is not just an Eastern religion meant only for the teeming millions of Asia. It is in essence a way of life to be adopted by mankind. For the acceptance of the Buddhist concept of life is the way to an understanding between nations which can lead to a higher quality of life for all.
