About the Book Viveka means to realise soul and soulless by discriminating them separately like milk and water. Chuda implies plug and forehead, mani a glowing stone. As in the coal mine, workers roam about fixing bulb of a battery on their forehead, so proceeding on life-journey by bearing glowing stone of discrimination on forehead, the whole life will remain bright by the light of knowledge and Sadhakas will have no chance of going astray. This Viveka Chudamani is the glowing stone of discrimination, the highest brilliant discrimination. This leads to self-knowledge and intense asceticism. An aspirant of knowledge leading to salvation is the rightful person to study this composition. Swamiji himself before the last Shloka of this book has written one Shloka.
