Preface

This treatise is a compliation of the essence or major events/episodes as they get place in number of Ramayanas which were composed frequently most of the years since very beginning. It is observed that only three or four Ramayanas could so-far got wide popularity and publicity. These are: Valmiki Ramayana, Adhyatma Ramayana, Ananda Ramayana and Hanumannataka. These all Ramayanas have been written/composed in Sanskrit language. Ramacarita Manasa is the most famous Rama's story among the Ramayanas Manasa is the most famous Rama's story among the Ramayans composed in Hindi language. Ramacandrika etc. Certain volumes in Ramayana have also acquired large circulation and publicity so-far. Rama's story has been variedly mentioned in orient literature including Mahabharata, Purana etc. However, no approach is made or perusal so-far. Rama's story has been variedly mentioned in orient literature including Mahabharata, Purana etc. However, no approach is made or perusal so-far done on these volumes-even by the people who are engaged in propagation of Rama's story among the public i.e. the class of priests, Brahmins, the missionaries etc. When this is the position, useless to say of any preference from the common-people.

Cause for Genesis:

In this context, it is to state that I generally arranged "Quest Session" in addition to lecture or interpretation on story and episodes as we see in Ramayana. This I do in course of every function based on religion or the debates held by the curious section of the society wherever I am invited. I encourage the people gathered there, to raise question/query if any, till then causing clouds of doubt in their mind. During such sessions, I have observed that a majority of people raises questions on the works and ethical decisions made by Rama in his life. They get proper answer to their queries when I pick-up illustrations from Ramayana having so far no wide publicity. A number of people want as I observed; A Compilation of Illustrations, which may ward-off the doubts, crept in the minds of common people in a precise manner. They say-"that compilation not only will remove the doubts but also act as a torch-bearer or guide for the people (Priests, Panditas etc.) who as a part and parcel of Hindu rituals; propagate Rama's story among the public."

Implementation :

Owing to certain pre-occupations, I could not manage the ever fleeing time to allocate for above said public-aspiration so-far. However, now I see the seed sown by the people in my mind, getting climate suitable to sprout and come up the surface. In other words, I will deem it; lord Rama himself has graced me with this project for the noble cause of imparting an understanding to the public beyond any doubts on his life and works. Hence, this treatise is before the genius readers.

In course of writing, only selective episodes from earlier volumes of Ramayana, much or less popular; have been extracted and duly explained in this volume. Further, some specific events have only been incorporated in order to avoid prolix. The readers interested in details on episodes mentioned herein are requested therefore, to contact us and peruse the concerned scriptures/volumes in their original form.

Part from Kausika Ramayana, all other volumes on Ramayana are available in printed from. This only Ramayana, I could not arrange for perusal in depth. It is plausible to mention that there is a number of grammatical, punctuation, style etc. errors found in the above said Ramayana but we have extracted them in their original from. Hence, the readers are requested to read them and conceive there from, clear understanding themselves.

Evaluation of the work :

As per Tulsi's averment-'Hari ananta hari katha ananta', Rama's story indeed, is an inaccessible ocean like, composed in varied mode, styles and languages since the ages past. This booklet is merely a drop in the ocean but it holds all its quintessence as the readers themselves will conclude and determine its place after perusal. It is hoped that scholars will churn the ocean, extract gems there from and do experiments in that vast agenda. Such efforts in long-term will bring definitely, back to life the orient culture presently ailing of the malaises materialism and consumerism infused in India by the western countries.

Humble Request :

Although, all possible care has been taken to bring-out this treatise without errors; valuable suggestions from learned readers shall be highly appreciated and incorporated in the forthcoming revised edition.

We will feel our endeavor successful, only if this work could propitiate the revered devotees of lord Rama.

Desire Intertwined to state that- May! The mankind be prosperous with spiritual property.
