Book Description
An unknown monk entered Belgaum in 1892 and inspired the people by his radiant personality and sublime spirituality and left the city. It was only when he shook the world-platform at Chicago in 1893 that entire India felt immensely proud of this unknown monk who was none other than its own glorious son-Swami Vivekananda.
Yes, we should consider ourselves not only fortunate but also blessed to have such a magnanimous personality to be felt proud of in this Iron Age. When the whole world was looking down on India as a slavish and superstitious race, Swami Vivekananda placed before them, the invaluable and precious tenets of Sanatana Dharma which alone could save the whole civilization. It is he who brought to this great nation the glory that it rightly deserved. If today India has been able to raise its head above all other nations with courage and confidence the credit first goes to him. India had a rich history, made richer by him! Now when the whole world is trembling before the grim and dark future, it is his dynamic message that stands as a beacon light.
Now, India should not shirk from its responsibility to humanity; for that to be possible, we must study Swami Vivekananda, imbibe and assimilate his ideas and modify our personality after his mould. This booklet is an effort in that regard to give a glimpse of some of the facets of this great personality when he was staying in Belgaum.
We hope this booklet would inspire sincere aspirants to know more about him and to take up a deeper study of his works.
