Book Description

ABOUT THE BOOK
It was offered as a working hypothesis in 1900 to-day it is a fact, proved by the discovery of scientific men that each brain cell is an electric dynamo, and energy generated by thought has been recorded on graphs. This book, therefore, contained the first workable method of reading any line in the hand, enabling the student to follow each line with its detail of events from beginning to end correctly, a result never obtained before, and possible in no other way now.

I therefore, feel that a system of Hand Analysis which has stood the test in so many corners of the earth, for such a period of years, with the test being made by so many thousands of people, of so many nationalities, who comprise people with every point of view, has proved itself worthy of confidence. You, who own the book, can use it with renewed confidence. New owners may regard it as a safe guide which will not lead them astray.

It has eight thundered illustrations from life. The illustrations in the following pages are made from the hands of people located in all parts of the United States. The collection comprises hands of the most famous men and women of the age-those who have made history and ruled nations.

PREFACE
A S this is written, it is more than forty-five years since "THE LAWS OF SCIENTIFIC HAND READING" was first published. During the intervening years it has found its way into libraries in all parts of the world and into the hands of thousands of students. It is the book of reference for ninety-five per cent of all who are practicing Hand Analysis as a profession. I have received a constantly increasing number of letters from those who have, and are, using it as the basis of their work in Hand Analysis. I have been in personal contact with many thousands of owners since its first appearance. In no instance, either by correspondence or personal contact, has an indication been reported which was found unreliable. On the other hand I am constantly told of verifications, and of results accomplished by adhering to indications as presented herein. My universal experience has been when I meet a reader, I meet a friend.

From my own experience and that of others I have found no reason to change or correct any statement or indication contained in the book as originally published. Before considering an indication fully verified and ready for use, it was tested over many years of research and found reliable. This care in excluding every indication whose accuracy had not been fully demonstrated accounts for the fact that, during the past forty-five years, it has been found a reliable guide for those who have used it.

The TYPES of people who are the basis of this work have been identified in thousands of hands and proved to be the correct foundation upon which SCIENTIFIC HAND ANALYSIS must rest. From a proper use of these types as outlined. in the following chapters has grown the science of Vocational Guidance which is producing such astonishing results at this time.

Attempts to solve the lines in the hands have for ages. presented the stumbling block which has baffled authors and practitioners alike. The working hypothesis of an electric life current I introduced in the original publication in 1900 (Page 354 et seq.) removed this difficulty. It was offered as a working hypothesis in 1900: to-day it is a fact, proved by the discovery of scientific men that each brain cell is an electric dynamo, and energy generated by thought has been recorded on graphs. This book, therefore, con trained the first workable method of reading any line in the hand, enabling the student to follow each line with its detail of events from beginning to end correctly, a result never obtained before, and possible in no other way now.

The scientific explanation of the reason why lines record the events covering the entire life, contained in Chapter 1, part 2, in 1900, is the only one of the many theories advanced which has stood the test and been made certain by the greatly enlarged knowledge concerning the duality of the mind accumulated since that time by students of mental sciences. In other words, time has demonstrated and in creased certainty in every department contained in "THE LAWS OF SCIENTIFIC HAND READING" as originally published in 1900.

My confidence in the hands as revealing the pattern of every life has constantly increased since the first publication. I am as firmly opposed to the use of the hand as a means of amusement and entertainment as I was at the time this volume was published forty-five years ago. My belief that hands furnish a means of guidance has, by experience, been made even more positive. Thousands of cases have demonstrated this to be true since the appearance of this volume in 1900. That the application of Hand Analysis to individual cases at the present time can assist in solving most of the problems of human life, I firmly believe to be true. I, therefore, feel that a system of Hand Analysis which has stood the test in so many corners of the earth, for such a period of years, with the test being made by so many thousands of people, of so many nationalities, who comprise people with every point of view, has proved itself worthy of confidence. You, who own the book, can use it with renewed confidence. New owners may regard it as a safe guide which will not lead them astray.
