About the Book The book is based on the collection of several essays, news paper columns, reviews, and analytical comments on the current socio-political events in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in context to the history of the Indian sub continent. The contents in the book are multi-dimensional. If they are spontaneous outburst of heart-felt feelings against the oppression and exploitation of all kinds, especially women- folk and enslaved colonies, yet they are thoughtful, thought-provoking, realistic and truthful.
The book reflects the authors keen observation, high understanding, analytical mind and poetic style. The reader will get the genesis of the Kashmir problem, its possible solutions and the present hurdles in the movement for the right of self determination.
About the Author Professor Hameeda Bano Nayeem teaches in the dept of English, University of Kashmir. She is human rights defender and social activist and has represented Kashmir at many international form .She has diverse academic interests including feminism and feminist theories, interfaith matters and environmental issues. She is the chairperson of Kashmir Centre for Social and development Studies and Advocacy and Research Centre. She is the founder member of Women Waging Peace of Harvard University. She has been on the forefront of human rights struggle with specific focus on women's and children's rights and Peace Initiatives.
