About the Book
During our freedom struggle against British rule, a number of stalwarts and great souls surfaced and gave new directions from time to time to our national movement and India ultimately became able to emancipate itself from the clutches of the British rule. Some of these stalwarts were Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Bal Gangadhar Tialk, Dadabhai Naurijo, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Pherozeshah Mehta, Lala Lajpat Rai etc. etc. They wrote and spoke lot during various occasions to rise in revolt against British rule having prepared with their mind and spirit. They instilled courage and spirit in the people to liberate the country from the British rule. Their eloquent speeches and writings made the people aware and conscious to stand against the British rule.

The present encyclopedia consists of the prominent speeches and writings of our five great leaders (Jawahar Lal Nehru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Madan Mohan Malviya, Sarojini Naidu, Dr. S. Radha Krishnan).

About the Authors
Dr. P. Singh, B.A. and M.A. (Philosophy) from University of Allahabad. She qualified UGC, NET, ICPR, JRF and did her Ph.D. in comparative Study of Humanistic Philosophical Thinking of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi. At present she is teaching on ad hoc basis as an Asst. Professor under Allahabad University and attended a number of seminars including National seminars on contemporary crisis etc. etc.

Sumit Sinha, B.A. (Hons.), M.A. in Political Science from Lucknow University and M.Phil. from Delhi University is a Research Scholar and pursuing his Ph.D. from same University. Mr. Sinha has been civil service aspirant and appeared two times for interview. At present he has also been associated with a project being researched on our various great leaders of Indian notional movement. He has made an intensive study of our political system. He has throughout brilliant academic career.

Preface
Britishers exploited India to the extent. 1857 marked the first spark of revolution against British rule in India. With the establishment of Indian National Congress in 1885, for the first time, a movement against British rule started in a systematic and planned way. On the horizon of Indian politics a number of national leaders emerged out comprising WC. Banerjee, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya & Sarojini Naidu etc. For about three decades since the establishment of INC in 1885 the liberals dominated the political stage of India. They contributed in their way in national struggle but were pushed in the background by the extremists in the forefront being Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, who changed the very character of the Indian National Congress and had a different outlook and approach. He was a great journalist and a believer in Hindu traditions as way of life.

Gandhi Era also produced a number of great leaders such as Motilal Nehru, C.R. Das, J.L. Nehru, Madan Mohan Malviya etc.

The book emphatically deals with speeches and writings of our some Great Political Leaders who played a significant role in the freedom struggle to emancipate India from the clutches of the British rule and ultimately became able to make India Independent in 1947. These leaders are Lok Manya Bal Gangadhar Tilak (2 Vols.), Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru (3 Vols.), Pt.Madan Mohan Malviya (1 Vol), Sarojini Naidu (1 Vol.) and Sarvapalli Dr. Radha Krishnan.
