Dr. V. Shivananda (b.1954) did Master's in A1 History & Epigraphy of the Karnatak University, Dharwad with First Rank (1974). He completed PG Diploma in Archaeology from the School of Archaeology, ASI, Delhi (1975-76). He joined the ASI like Chennai, Bangalore, Cochin, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Baroda and Goa. He retired from the ASI as a Director. He has participated in several excavations. He has visited Greece, Italy and Portugal as part of cultural exchange programmes. He has number of research publications to his credit. He has edited three important Felicitation volumes. He has also authored books on Mattancheri Palace (1997), Champaner-Pavgad Archaeological Park (2009), Catalogue of Srirangapattana Palace Museum (2013), Church of St. Francis Assisi Paintings (2013), Excavations in Gujarat (2015) and Neolithic Cultures of South India (2017).
C.B. Patil (b.1950) holds First Class Master's in Al History & Epigraphy of the Karnataka University (1975) and Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology from School of Archaeology, ASI. (1984). He joined the ASI as Technical Assistant in 1979 and served in various capacities before retiring as Dy. SA in 2009. He has participated in the excavations at several sites, including Banawali in Haryana, conducted by the ASI. He teaches antiquarian legislations in the Institute of Archaeology, ASI, New Delhi. He has visited Maldives, Spain, Singapore and China on archaeological missions. He was Project Coordinator for Karnataka, National Mission on Monuments and Antiquities, ASI (2010-11), Member of R.N. Misra Committee to Review the Amendments Proposed for the Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972 (2010 11) and Member of Administrative and Technical Committee for Conservation of Monuments, Directorate of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage, Government of Karnataka (2010-13). He has been Tagore National Scholar for researching on Illicit Trafficking of Indian Cultural Wealth: Problems and Challenges (2015-17). Besides numerous papers, he has two books to his credit: Delhi: A Bibliography (1997) and Remembering Stalwarts: Biographical Sketches of Scholars from Archaeological Survey of India (2014).
