Book Description

ABOUT THE BOOK
Marmas can not be seen by naked eye but can be identified as specific tender points. The vital energies (PRAN) are locked up in these marmas and with the help of different selected methods of marma stimulation different psychosomatic and degenerative ailments can be checked. Book contains authors experience based guidelines for Marma Chikitsa. Without the help of medicine Marma Chikitsa is the easiest way to control the disease as it works by patient's own vital points.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
DR BINOD KUMAR JOSHI MD Ayurved and well known ayurvedic physician DR GEETA JOSHI are internationally well respected Marma specialists having more than 30 years of clinical experience on Marma Chikitsa. They are the co-authors of Vedic Health Care System (Sushrutokta Marma Chikitsa and Siravedhan year 2002)

ABOUT THE PREFACE
For a long time, there had been a need for a book that will deal with the usefulness of marmas for treating diseases. Keeping this in mind we have, in this book, tried to explain with illustrations the different marma points in the body and their methods of stimulation vis-à-vis equivalent to Chinese meridians. The readers can understand that the Chinese knowledge is the cold storage of marma chikitsa and once decoded, different marma points are confirmed.

Description of marmas in Sushrut Samhita around 2500 years ago is a more comprehensive form of what was described in the vedic era. Once an efficient physician stimulates the affected marma by a proper process, patient's self cure mechanism is triggered and the disease is cured. This book provides the simple and specific method of stimulating the marmas as mentioned in Shastras. To understand this one has to go through the shlokas of Chapters of Sushrut Samhita Sharir Sthan.

As per Acharya Sushrut, "Chaturvidhah yastu sirah sharire prayen ta marmasu sannivishtah" i.e, all four siras (Vat, Pitta, Kapha and Rakta) are embodied in Marma. This clearly shows that the methods adopted to stimulate marmas are the same as that of siras and are therefore responsible for treatment.

In our book Vedic Health Care System published in the year 2002 we have unveiled many unanswered questions on 24 Dhamanis, 700 Siras and 107 Marmas of Sushrut Samhita. This is why many researchers and authors from India and abroad honoured us by quoting it. For that we owe them a debt of gratitude. This dignifies and gives us strength.
