Book Description

Introduction

Today Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a well-known organization. The public is aware of its multifarious activities through the press and other mass media.

But very few know much. about the founder, mentor and guide of this organization.

The infallible message of the founder, Acharya Srimat Swami Pranavananda is - India will not remain in a slumbering state for long. India will awake, arise and be reinstated on the exalted altar of the world teacher.

But she will have to entitle herself to regain that seat.

He sent a clarion call to the youths "Ye are the future of the nation. You are to see that India occupies her rightful place." A nation is judged by the character of the individuals. Despite subjugation for thousand years, due to its lofty ideals our country was held in high esteem by the whole world. If we can inculcate those ideals in our individual life only then our country will regain its glorious position.

He chose his future workers from them. Service and sacrifice -re the twin strands of Indian ideals. He made those the motto of his life. He always stood by the side of the distressed with his young admirers. He begied alms from door to door and helped them. He had a deep compassion even for the lower creature. His behaviour with all beings reminded every one of the story of his birth that he was none but lord Shiva descended on the earth in mortal form. Though the distressed and needy found a friend in him he was dreaded by the antisocial elements as they knew that they would not he spared if needed.

The pilgrim centres are, so to say, the heart of the nation. All the new thoughts and ideals are infused in the nation through these centres. Every Hindu hankers after visiting these centres even once in his life time. Swamiji made it a point to purge the pilgrim centres of the highhandedness of the selfish elements and in order to accomplish this, he established centres at Gaya, Varanasi,
