About the Author
He was born at birth place of Baba saheb (MHOW) on 13-08 1956 in Military Hospital. His native town is Bassi Pathana, District Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab). Passed Higher Secondary from Government School, Bassi Pathana. Passed Pre medical from M.G. College, Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab) and quailed for getting admission in MBBS in 1975. For constraint of funds could not get admission in MBBS. For sake of dignity and self respect he politely refused the offer of his tutors to nancially help for his getting admission in MBBS. Passed B.Sc. (Medical) from same college in 1977. He could not get admission in any post graduate course, again for want of money. Joined clerical job on 01-07-1978 in Judicial Courts, District Patiala. He got admission in LL.B.. evening class, in 1979. On passing LL.B. from Punjabi University, Patiala, he resigned on 31-07-1982, for starting practice as lawyer. In 1982 he got enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and started pratice at Judicial Courts, Bassi Pathana. He was rst Dalit advocate having established practice as lawyer at Bassi Pathana. Judicial Courts were shifted from Bassi Pathana to Fatehgarh Sahib in 1984. He also shifted to Fatehgarh Sahib. While practicing at Fatehgarh Sahib he passed Punjab Civil Services (Judicial) competition and joined in Judicial Department of Punjab on 13-02-1991 as Sub Judge cum Judicial Magistrate, while member of Bar Association, Bassi Pathana later on Fatehgarh Sahib. Since, independence (1947) he was the rst Dalit, who had passed PCS (J) to become a Judge from this Bar. He got various promotions in Judicial Department while posted at different stations across Punjab. Under widespread casteism and corruption, he was feeling suffocation throughout his job. He got pre-mature retirement as Addl. Distt. & Sessions Judge, on 19-01-2009 and started practice as advocate at District Courts, Fatehgarh Sahib. Now he is practicing as an advocate at District Courts, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Introduction
Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who had been first Guru of Sikhs, has laid down the foundation of Sikh religion (Sikhism) was born on 15-04-1469. He ignored his own sons and recognized merit for appointing Guru Angad Dev Ji as Second Guru of Sikhs. Likewise Gurudom was conferred on Guru Amardas Ji Third Guru of Sikhs on basis of merit by Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji. Shri Guru Amardass Ji appointed Guru Ramdass Ji Fourth Guru of Sikhs again on basis of merits, though he hap pened to be son-in-law of Guru Amardass Ji. On the insis tence of Bibi Bhani Ji wife of Guru Ramdass Ji, further Gurus were appointed on the basis of merit-cum-kinship within the fold of kinship. Finally, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Tenth Guru of Sikhs conferred Gurudom on Shri Guru Granth Sahib the Eleventh Guru of Sikhs. Eversince then Guru Granth Sahib has been Eleventh Guru of Sikhs universally recognized by Sikhs and non-Sikhs.
