This monograph evaluates his versatile creativity and intellectual attainment. The author of this monograph, Dr. Shankar Mokashi Punekar (birth 1928- ) is a distinguished novelist in Kannada. Besides his penchant poetry, criticisms and translations are widely acclaimed. His novel, "Avadeshwari" honoured with Sahitya Akademi Award in 1988. He has taught English literature in various universities in Karnataka and presently living his retired life at Dharwad.
