Book Description

Preface

It is the responsibility of everyone to protect our environment. In the background of fast socio-economic growth in recent years, the environmental problems have become worse. However, since the environment is a complex, variable and extensive system, protecting the environment is a hard and enduring task. It is impossible that all the existing pollution problems in the environmental can completely be resolved in the next decade. A wonderful and quality environment must be achieved by continuous planning, governing policies, efforts of the enterprises and public participation.

In the present scenario it is apt to compose such a good work, especially in Sanskrit to make the youth aware about the responsibility to protect our environment through proper planning and what care to be taken by the youngsters to ward off the existing problems. As the author clearly introduce in his note, the present work Parisaranitisatakam is basically more down to earth, literally and figuratively, dealing with earthy issues like pollution in different forms and sources, deforestation, and depletion of water resources. The language is so simple that anyone who has a little knowledge in Sanskrit can read and understand the ethics behind it. Above all, the medium of verses in Sanskrit can be of great value.

I take this opportunity to thank Sri Mangesh Nadkarni for giving his composition to CIFSS for publication. Besides I consider it as a privilege to publish this work through Chinmaya International Foundation Shodha Sansthan. My sincere thanks to Swami Advayanandaji for his guidance and blessings.

I am very grateful to Prof. Gangadharan Chairman of Shodha Sansthan for his kind support. I am very thankful to Smt. Saralakumari N D and Dr. C P Ambika for proof-reading. We all give our hearty thanks to Hon'ble Prof. P N Shastriji, Vice Chancellor and Prof. S. Subramanya Sarma, Registrar, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi for their guidance and financial support to publish this book.
