Book Description
The main purpose of Poetry or Kavya is to provide aesthetic delight to its author, readers and listeners. Dr. Swetapadma Satapahty, the composer of this poetry i.e. Kavya Kairavam is very much aware of this eternal doctrine of the Poetics and accordingly she has chosen some relevant subject matters and titles on which she has composed eighteen poems in Sanskrit. All these eighteen poems are systematically and strategically arranged and incorporated in the concerned "Kavya Kairavam".
The subject matters are mainly related to Indian aesthetics and its concept; literature and its underlying philosophy; utility of a clean and green environment in India; significance and relevance of Sanskrit; war and peace; Covid-19 and its impact and lessons; message and philosophy of the great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi; Socio-cultural and Socio-religious components of Indian heritage and the commitment of self to transform the present society in a positive direction. It deserves to be mentioned that all these topics depicted and communicated in a lucid style in Sanskrit language by the poet will not only touch the heart of the connoisseurs but also create a positive and vibrant impact on the ongoing perplexing national as well as international affairs.
Dr. Swetapadma Satapathty, born on 14th April 1987 in cuttack, got her Secondary education in an integral school based on the philosophy of Yogi Aurovindo. She stood first in the B.A. with Sanskrit as Hons. in S.C.S. (Auto) College under Utkal University, BBSR and got her Post -Graduate degree from Rashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati (A.P.) in Sahitya with specialization in Eastern Aesthetics and Literature. She obtained the Ph.D. degree from the same University in Sahitya. She has been awarded four Gold Medals for her excellent presentations in Sahitya, Dharmasastra (Ancient Indian Jurisprudence) and Samkhya System of Indian Philosophy during her student's career.
She has participated in several National and International Seminars and Conferences and presented nearly fifty papers on various aspects of Literature and Poetics in these Conferences. Her research papers have been published in various National and International Journals. Some of her papers have been adjudged as the best papers for which she has been awarded. She has obtained her P.G. Diploma in Classical Dance (Odishi) from Pracheena Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, Panjab and has performed on several national platforms. She has also received a P.C. Diploma in Yoga Vljnana from Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati. At present, she is working as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Sahitya, National Sanskrit University, Tirupati, A.P. She has authored a number of books in Sanskrit and English and "Katha Kalpalata", an Anthology of Short-stories, is the most recent one.
