Priyamsudarpanah: Mirror of Indic Wisdom- P.P. Upadhyaya Commemoration Volume

About the Book The book entitled Priyamsudarpanah comprises articles dedicated to the hallowed memory of late Dr. Priyangshuprabal Upadhyaya. He was a Sanskrit scholar of repute and a man of wisdom, hailing from Dibrugarh, Assam. For about twenty years (1972 - 1994) he served the Department of Sanskrit, Gauhati University as a reputed teacher of Darsanasastra.

Priyamsudarpanah is made up of two parts. In the rst part the reader will find articles and Prasastis written in memory of late Dr. Upadhyaya. Twenty three research oriented articles authored by well known scholars have been incorporated in the second part of the book. The articles cover a wide range of areas of Indic studies such as religion, philosophy, literature, grammar, linguistics, poetics, law, polity and so on.

It is expected that the book will be able to attract the attention of scholars and students of Indology from across the country.

About the Author Dr. Maitreyee Bora, the editor of the Commemoration Volume entitled Priyamsudarpanah is a senior Professor at the Department of Sanskrit, Gauhati University. Her area of special interest of studies covers the Vedas and the ancillary texts. She has to her credit about thirty five research articles written on topics like Vedic concept of god, religion, philosophy, language, literature, music, society and so on which have been published in national journals of repute. She has written a book entitled Facets of Vedic Religion and Culture. Another of her books is an Assamese translation of the Atharvavedic Upanisads.
