Rabindranath Tagore and Fifty Years of Sahitya Akademi

On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, the author has turned to document how this apex literary organisation, in the last fifty years, has shown its commitment to the promotion of good literature and thought through Rabindranath Tagore's idea of India and Indian literature; impress of his creative and critical writings his perspectives on education, philosophy, religion and politics his profound vision or in one word, the significance of this Universal man even today.

Biswajit Sinha is a theatre scholar who holds Master's degree in two disciplines with professional training in 'Acting' from the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, New Delhi. .

Presently working on contemporary theatre in Santali, Mizo, Garo, Lepcha, Kokborok, Bodo languages etc., the author has written prolifically on classical and modern Indian theatre, with over fourteen published works. To his credit goes the First Encyclopaedic Series on Theatre, his singular contribution to the field. .

Author has the distinction to restore and organise the Private Collections of the Former Deputy Prime Minister of India.
