Book Description
There year ago I went to the Hassan college in Karnataka to visit my daughter who was studying is S.D.M. Aayurvedic College. There I come in contact with Prasanna N. Rao, principle of the I situation. On that occasion, he suggested that I should collect and present the books written in Malayalam on Agatha Thanthra to the college library. In addition he wanted from me a thesis based on my experience in visha chiikithsa and the related facts in Agatha Thanthra. But I could not submit because of my professional business and certain other problems.
Again after two years when I went to Hassan College, I happened to meet Dr. Sekhar, one of the professors at the college, and he also demanded from me a thesis on Agatha Thanthra in an abstract from along with my own experiences. I agreed to present it. So the demands of Dr. Rao and Dr. Sekhar and my own interest in the subject made me start writing the book. The thesis is prepared on the basis of authenting book on Agatha Thantra, the teaching of my Guru, the experiences from Gurukulam and my own practices in the field.
My Guru is the famous and popular Visha-vaidya Sree. P. N. Neelakantham Kartha, who was one Uduppa Committee, constituted by Nehru Govt. for forming Indian Medical policy. He was the representative for Agatha Thannthra in that committee. I had been with him in his Gurukulam for 7 years. During this period I learned a great deal I gained experience in Agatha Thanthra treatment.
The opening part of this book contains treatments on snake poison and treatment regarding Daarveekara, Mandali and Rajila- poisonous snakes. This is followed by the abstracts on treatment for mooshika visha, Lootha Visha, Vrischika Visha, Keeta Visha, Alaarka Visha, Garam, Dooshy Visha, Sthhaavara Visha etc.
The thesis presents invaluable information regarding Oushadha Yoga (preparation of medicine) and prayogas like divyadhaara. These facts were kept in secret till now by the Visha Vaidyas of Keralam and they were not published elsewhere. I would like to present this book about Visa Chikithsa to the students and people who are doing researches in the field of Aaayurveda practices.
